Fishing and Snorkeling Combo
This special charter starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. First we visit the local marine reserve, where you get to snorkel at Shark and Ray Alley. We then go out to do some trolling along the main Barrier Reef to catch our lunch that can be either Snappers, Groupers, Barracuda or other species. Another snorkel stop on a wild reef where we hunt for seasonal lobsters or conch to add to the lunch menu. We then head to a beautiful sandy beach where you can swim in turquoise water, while your guide prepare and grills the "Catch of the Day" served with tasty local coconut bread, coleslaw or veggie salad. After we depart from the beach, we then cruise along the channels of the many un-named mangrove islands in search for manatees, dolphins, birds and other wildlife that thrive in this healthy ecosystem. This charter is a favorite highlight for many happy people.
Cost is $600 USD from 1- 4 persons, any additional after 4 persons is $80 USD per person each. Maximum of 8.
Just tell us what you want to fish for and we'll design a guided tour just for you!
The typical fishing day begins at 8am, though that can change due to weather, tides, or fish activity. Each morning the guides will meet anglers at the nearest dock of their hotel and head out, as some of our fishing spots that is only 5-10 minutes away from the island or sometimes a 20 minute boat ride, depending on what species they are after. The guides will frequently move to several different spots throughout the day while searching for fish. You can always request with your guide for an early morning start at about 5 a.m.
We cover approximately 20 sq. miles of fishing area that is home to large populations of Permit, Bonefish, Tarpon, Snook and many other species. We also fish the many channels and backcountry mangrove lagoons where there are a multitude of unique ecosystems waiting to be explored. Our expert guides lead anglers into these diverse waters each day in search of the fish of a lifetime.
Boats
Our guides run 23-foot Panga boats with 60-100 horsepower outboard motors that handle the inner Barrier Reef lagoon conditions with ease. The boats are equipped with a back poling platform, a front casting deck with leaning post, and cushioned seats in the center. All boats carry life jackets, first aid kit, and fire extinguishers as required by the laws of Belize. For group fishing and snorkeling we have bigger boats available.
Fishing Tackle
The guides have a selection of flies, hooks, lures, leaders, and tippet etc. to provide for the fishing along with free loaner rods available for our guests, but it is still highly recommended that you bring your own gear. We never know when one of our loaner rods might break or when we’ll run out of that certain hot fly or lure, so we can’t guarantee availability.
